The Turtle Lake Fishery

The fish population of Turtle Lake has been utilized for thousands of years for both substance and recreation. first by the First Nations population and later by the European immigrants.

Turtle Lake was first fished commercially from the late 1890s until the 1960s.

Today it is fished for recreation and for substance by the local First Nations population.
